I’m not food.
But I am food.
Try explaining to a bear or wolf that I’m not food. I tell another person that I’m not food and it sounds ridiculous.
On the most basic level I’m made of what we call food (and very tasty as well). So this to me is a very funny idea. It’s a paradox, a conundrum, if you will. Maybe it’s neither of those things, but it certainly sounds weird if you say it out loud.
“I’m not food!”
On a much more esoteric level, a societal level, saying “I’m not food.” actually makes sense (and therefore sounds ridiculous). Certainly people have eaten people since the beginning of time. I wonder how many civilizations used humans as at least a major part of their diet. I’m guessing zero. It just doesn’t make economical sense as far as I can see. Humans can produce more food than they ingest, so there’s a good reason not to consider eating a human (also it’s considered a heinous crime).

So in conclusion… I’m food and I’m not food… but I’m mostly NOT food… but I am hungry.
